Accessibility Statement for Our Space Selby
Our Space Selby CIO
Registered Charity No. 1203541
Our Commitment
We want everyone who visits our website to feel welcome and find the experience easy to use.
We’re working hard to make our site as accessible and inclusive as possible, so that all visitors including people using assistive technology can access information, get involved, and contact us with ease.
How We Make the Site Accessible
We aim to follow recognised good-practice standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA.
To help achieve this, our website includes:
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and devices
- Clear headings and simple navigation
- Meaningful link text (not “click here”)
- High-contrast colour combinations for readability
- Alt text for images where appropriate
- Keyboard and screen-reader compatibility
We regularly review pages to keep improving accessibility and content clarity.
What We’re Working On
We know there’s always more to do.
Our current priorities include:
- Reviewing older PDF documents and images to ensure they have accessible formats or plain-text alternatives
- Continuing to test the site with real users and assistive tools
- Expanding captioning and descriptions on future media content
If you find any barriers that stop you from using the site, please let us know.
